Description: I got this idea from Dave Letterman's
"Top Ten" segment on his show (he had "Top
Ten Things You Never Want to Hear Your New Roommate
Say"). I made a bulletin board and printed out
four of his lists that related to the college experience.
It's something to get your residents laughing and
interacting by writing their own college top tens
on blank sheets.
Instructions: I used regular colored construction
paper and printed out all of the "Top Ten"
pages that related to college life from The Late Show
website- they have an archive of all of the past Top
Ten lists from the show. For a twist, I made my own
blank top ten list with questions that pertained to
my school (I attend a tech school with lots of science
and computer kids and LOTS of guys and hardly any
girls) so I asked questions like "Top Ten Pickup
Lines Used at Tech" and "Top Ten Ways to
Know Someone's a Techie" It's kind of an inside
thing for your school, but it makes it fun for your
residents. I provided markers and a pen (which I found
easier to write with on a B.B. than crayons or colored
pencils).
 
Other Considerations: As I mentioned before, make
it personalized for your school, and you don't necessairly
have to use Letterman's Top Ten ideas, you can find
lists somewhere else or make up your own. Also, make
sure you mention Dave Letterman's name for copyright
issues and before you post, make sure the content
is appropriate for you hall/floor so nobody gets offended.
