About

Roommate Conflicts

Roommate conflicts can be like hell on earth for a resident who is already trying to work out the transition into a new phase of their lives.

Read what other RAs have to say, and add your own thoughts.

Living With, Getting Along With, and Adjusting to... Roomates
Submitted by Sean Cook - Administrative Coordinator - North Halls - The Pennsylvania State University

“Tips for Getting Along with Roommates”
Adapted from a brochure produced by the Counseling Center at the University of Virginia.  It's not aimed at RAs, but has some really good information that could help in a mediation situation!

Roommate Communication Worksheet
I typed up this worksheet for new roommates to go through at the beginning of the semester, and have also used it for a roommate dispute situation.  You can download a Microsoft Word version of it here.
