Hello!  My name is Rebecca Morales and I am a Graduate Assistant at the
University of Central Florida Department of Housing and Residence Life.
We currently have a Health and Wellness themed floor in one of our
halls. It is in its second semester of operations.  Students are
selected for this floor based on their response to an interest form that
we send to all housing applicants.  Students are placed in assignments
on this floor based on their application received date and interest in
the program.  We ask that each resident of the Health and Wellness floor
voluntarily sign a contract that states they will not consume or possess
alcohol, elicit and illegal drugs, non-prescription drugs, or tobacco
products.  The contract really only restates what our current University
and Housing policies dictate.  The reprecussions of breaking these
policies are the same for all of residends.   Regarding programing, we
have formed an alliance with our Health and Wellness Center and the
Counseling and Testing Center.  The professionals at these two groups
present programs for our residents and distribute information via
pamphlets in our hall.  Additionally, the RA develops fun programming
like going rollerblading.  So far, the Health and Wellness floor has
been a success.  I will also send along a copy of our pamphlet.

If you have any additional questions, please let me know.  Good luck
developing your program.
