I know that one way around this might be by
using contact paper for
everything that you put on the walls and doors.
Contact paper is more
fire resistant than regular paper would be
and less likely to go up in
flames.

In my experience, this has always been a concern
of fire marshalls. On
at least two other campuses, I have been able
to negociate at least
certain period of time (one evening for trick
'o treats, or homecoming or
Christmas) to be allowed elaborate decorations.
Visits are made,
contests judged and materials are removed
by the end of the evening.
This was a good compromise for us.
