Example of a Welcome Letter to New Students

Dear New SDSM&T Students:

At this time I want to welcome you to the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. I am the Assistant Director of Residence Life for Programs and the March / Dake Residence Hall Director. This will be my first year working for you the students of SDSM&T.

My duties as the Assistant Director of Residence Life for Programs include: developing residence hall programming designed to assure your success as a student at SDSM&T, develop and maintain the Residence Life Web Pages (which are currently available on-line at http://www.sdsmt.edu/services/residence), help coordinate TECH family weekend scheduled for the first weekend in November, coordinate residence hall study groups, advise Phi Eta Sigma (A National Freshmen Honor Society), coordinate residence life support of summer conferences, including the supervision of student conference assistants, and coordinate the Alcohol Education Program throughout campus, as well as advise the Drug and Alcohol Awareness Task Force.

Your success as a student at SDSM&T is my passion and aspiration. If you need help in any way, please do not hesitate to stop by my office located in the March-Dake Hall lobby. Get ready to start building B.A.S.I.C. (Building A Strong Involving Community) SUCCESS communities in Y2K!
