If you are looking for an educational class,
I would suggest looking into
OCTAA - On Campus Talking About Alcohol.
They offer training for
instructors and you can get them to come to
you if you can get a interested
group together in the Boston area. They
course they recommend for students
is 8 hours, but you might be able to get the
information and condense it to
fit your needs. They are located at
the Prevention Research Institute, 841
Corporate Drive, Ste. 300, Lexington, KY
40503, (606) 223-3392.
BACCUS and GAMMA also have great resources
and provide training materials
for peer education groups if you wanted to
get peer education going. They
are best accessed by their web page at www.bacchusgamma.org
The other idea is to use Alcohol 101 CD ROM
program developed by the Univ.
of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign & The Century
Council. It is a great
educational program and the students really
enjoy and get something out of
it. You can get the CD-ROM and instructional
information (including
assessment info) by contacting The Century
Council, 550 South Hope St. Ste.
1950, Los Angeles, CA 90071, (213) 624-9898,
www.centurycouncil.org
Hope this helps! Good luck!
