(Last
Chance) Water Fight
|
|
Considerations:
- Get approval from everyone for this program...we
thought we'd be able to use a slip n'slide but we
couldn't. Know your limits.
- Find out what other events are happening on campus
that night. We happened to choose a night that there
was a big charity party almost everyone went to.
Choose a night where there's really nothing better
to do and it's not in the middle of crunch time
for students. *If I could do it differently, I would
have also gotten a couple kiddie pools and hose
toys, as well as chosen a different night....alas,
maybe next semester!
Description: Our Residence Hall had been plagued
by late night water fights which had resulted in injuries
after people slipped and fell. We decided to give
the residents a last chance to get rid of their need
for a water fight, by allowing them to have a free-for-all
in our courtyard.
Instructions:
- First and foremost, get approval through Residence
Life and Facilities. You must find out what Residence
Life will and won't let you you get away with. (We,
for example, could not have a slip n' slide, but
those are the newest fad on our campus.) Residence
Life may also require a Medic, just ion case. Also,
you have to promise Facilities to clean up!
- Second, decide what you are going to use. Water
balloons? Slip n'slides? Squirt bottles or squirt
guns? Hoses? Once you've decided, shop around for
the best deal and buy your supplies.
- Third, pick a night that people might need a break
but not are not too busy with schoolwork. A Tuesday
is good because it can be a boring night, but be
sure not to pick it during the middle or midterms!
- Fourth, advertise like crazy! Who wouldn't want
to throw water balloons at their RAs?
- Fifth, have a great time! Throw on shorts and
a bathing suit and play with your residents! They'll
love it!
