About

Valentines for Vets

I have never done this as an Residence Life Program but until this year, Community Service Programs were not mandatory at our college.  I did however do this with my 4-H club several times in high school, and am planning on doing it this year at my college.

The project is simple.  Find out about a local War Veteran's Hospital and see if they would like to receive Valentines for some of the Veterans.  Then gather together a group and create Valentines.  You can't get very individualized but you can be creative using various materials etc.  Someone then must deliver the Valentines to the Hospital or possibly mail them if the Hospital is further away. In the end, residents will have a good time working together making the Valentines and feel good because they know they brightened someone' day.
