Description:
This is a great program to get your residents
to work together, and most importantly, to get
to know you as the RA!
Instructions:
- Come
up with a good list of things you want your
residents to know about you and create a clue
sheet. (see attached flyer
as an example).
- Come
up with a good incentive (prize) for the winners.
(It may be a pizza party for the room or suite
who gets the most correct answers first).
- Create
a poster with pictures of things about you
or things you like to do. (Post it on your
bulletin board, or on your door).
- Let
the residents know you'll be having a scavenger
hunt and to watch for clues. Leave the poster
up for a week or a few days and then take
it down.
- The
night before the scavenger hunt, place clues
around the hall that correspond with the questions
on the clue sheet. (ie, How old am I? Clue:
need to check out a key? -- and have the answer
available at the front desk).
- Decide
on a deadline for the activity. You may wish
to make it an all day event, because of people's
schedules.
- Give
them guidelines (for example, you may not
remove the clues) and list the prize on the
clue sheet. You may also want to have them
turned in to the front desk and time-stamped,
so you know who turned their's in first, in
case of a tie for correct answers.
- Have
the residents turn their clue sheet in as
a team (from their room or apartment) so they
work together and get to know one another
better.
