About

Potty Party

Potty Party

Purpose - The purpose of this program is to decorate flower pots and to physically have something to take away from the program.  Not only the process of decorating but also socializing while you are painting or stenciling your flower pot.  It is also good to give a little information about the plants you are giving out and about what plants make good houseplants etc.

A fun social activity that is actually beneficial in building community among residents and decorating their rooms is a "Potty Party".  This program was put on for a building of residents and what you will need is:
Terra Cotta pots
starter plants/flowers
potting soil
rocks
paints/markers/glitter (anything to decorate a flower pot)
some education on how to plant the specific flowers/plant and what kind of sunlight/water it will need
door prizes
music

Advertising Ideas
  • You can easily advertise this idea with the use of flower cut outs as teasers/publicity
  • Also, toilet paper works well as a teaser/publicity
  • In addition, you could advertise in the "potty press" which would be hung in the bathrooms as a newsletter
Hints
  • Utilizing an outside area - it is great for this program
  • Give out door prizes
  • Recognize the most creative flower pots/best planted etc, with certificates, prizes or potting supplies
Good luck and Have Fun!
