About

You Ought to be in Pictures

Name: Niki Peppler
School: North Carolina School of the Arts
email: pepplern@ncarts.edu

Description:

I wrote a letter to each of my resident's parents asking for a baby picture, preferably from birth to two years old. I posted these pictures on a bulletin board (being careful not to damage the picture) and numbered them. The residents then submitted their guesses of who each picture was. Great program for New Year's when the students  return from break.

I did this program at Ohio Northern University and actually received the idea originally from a head resident that did it when she was an RA.

Instructions/Things Needed:

1. Home addresses of residents
2. Letter to parents
3. Preferably an encased bulletin board for protection

Other Considerations:

Out of the three years I did this, I had the pictures stolen once (possible Rush prank on my sorority hall),  that's why I suggest the glassed in bulletin board.
Also, encourage the parents to keep this a SECRET!!!
It is good PR to let the parents know when you will be
returning the photos.
