About

Melon Fest

Our staff bought as many types of melon as you can imagine- watermelon, cantaloupes, honeydews, santa claus melons, etc- Walmart had a huge selection.  Then we had a "Melon Fest" in our rec room complete with cantaloupe bowling, a seed spitting contest, a greased honeydew relay race/obstacle course, and lots of melon to eat!!!  We also had some auxiliary games like foosball and air hockey going on.  The seed spitting contest went over really well with both sexes.

Instructions/Things Needed:

all the melons you can get.
bowling pins.
markers and tape measure for the seed spitting contest.
crisco for the greased melon relay race.
whatever items you need to to make a suitable obstacle course/relay race.
good knives for cutting melons to eat.

Other Considerations:

People really liked that the food was healthy for a change.

It can be very messy- especially when cantaloupes explode when you bowl with them.  Go figure, right?  Everyone loved the mess of it all.

It appealed to both men and women a lot.
