About

Irish Jigging

Name:    Susie Bobrowski
School:  Western Michigan University
email:   rockinsmb@aol.com

Description:

A dance teacher from one of our local dance studios in Kalamazoo came and taught a group of students about the history of Irish Jigging and the relation it has to a lot of modern day dances, she then taught the students how to actually do a jig.  The program was to show students that diversity is not just a black and white thing that it encompasses thousands of other cultures.

Instructions/Things Needed:

*Find a dance teacher that can knows Irish Jigging and its history
*A large room with open space
*A stero to play music (optional)
*Motivation

Other Considerations:

Make sure to have a very large open space to move in. Other wise you will have complications. You also may need to limit the number of attendees to 30.
