Housekeeper

Description:
We had one housekeeper on our floor who really went out of her way for
us, always letting us borrow the vacuum or something, so the girls
wanted to do something nice for her. This was their idea. We collected
money from anyone on the hall willing to donate, as much as they
wanted, although we only asked for $1 a piece. Out of about 50 girls,
we collected over $200. So, we bought her a college sweatshirt, gift
certificates to her favorite stores (including groceries), things for
her house, shoes, and much more. She was so surprised and the girls
really felt good after helping her.
Instructions/Things Needed:
Just collect money from the residents. Although we had money in our
budget to buy gifts, it wasn't the same, and wouldn't have meant as
much. We got more from the girls than we would have been able to spend
anyway. Also, get to know the housekeeper so you know what they
like or need. Ours was really personal. We also tried to keep the hall
a little cleaner for her that week.
