Harry Potter--Hogwarts School

Description: I split up the students on my floor into the four houses in the Harry Potter books (Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Slytherin, Ravenclaw). On the bulletin board, I put a picture of the mascot for each house and the corresponding Sorting Hat rhyme. Then I took miniature pictures of the mascots and put them on each door, so the residents would know which house they were in. At the first meeting, I made them separate into houses and talk amongst themselves. It's a bulletin board, door decs, and ice breaker all in one!

Instructions_Things_Needed: A computer clip art program, or magazine pictures.

The first or fourth Harry Potter books (for the Sorting Hat rhyme)

Other Considerations: Not everyone's read Harry Potter, so it's important to explain what's going on at the meeting
