Beach
Scene |
Description:
We threw a beach party for residents as part of a "beating the winter blues"
theme week. We had beach type music, food including tropical fruits, mocktails
(nonalcoholic mixed drinks), and hot dogs cooked in the fireplace. There was also a
costume contest for the best dressed for the Carribean. Another contest to consider
would be limbo. The program lasted approx. an hour and a half to two hours.
Residents were really interested and enthusiastic about the program.
Instructions/Things Needed:
Beach music
Prizes
Fruit (pinapple, oranges, grapes, kiwi, melon, mango)
Hotdogs
Mocktails
Other Considerations:
Start preparing the fruit well in advance--possibly ask residents to help.
Advertise in more creative ways--cut a beach towelName: Bell Hall Staff
