PRIDE

Description: To educate & celebrate the University's LGBTQA community.

Instructions: -PROUD. stickers [see attachment] -PROUD. tshirts [see attachment] -candy -other give aways [we did PROUD. visors, coozies, etc] -guest speaker -150 flags in rainbow colors [cardstock on wooden dowels work perfectly] with facts/questions/statements about the LGBTQA community [ex. "Don't assume he's hitting on you just because he's gay."] -gay pride flag banner -pamphlets that include more info [including or not including the info on the flags] to hand out; recommended: a 4x6 card with a ribbon attached

Choose a nice day towards the end of April [we did it on April 20], preferably an Admitted Students Day, to set up a table in a highly trafficked area. Line walkways with the rainbow flags. Spend 45 minutes rallying people with tshirts, stickers, etc to march around a designated area with the gay pride banner, ending in a specific location where the guest speaker will give a 20-30 minutes talk on LGBTQA issues, etc.

Other Considerations: We only ordered 75 tshirts @ $7.25 apiece. Depending on the funding you can get, more is always better, and the idea is to reach as many people in the short period of time. The more volunteers you have to begin with, the easier it will be to rally.
