About

Sex in the lounge

Program: Sex in the Lounge
Sexual

Description:

First of all, make sure all your posters say 'SEX' in big letters. Doesn't have to be in the Lounge; any common area will work, just as long as it gets their attention when they walk past. Of course it doesn't hurt to mention free food or drinks.
The program basically goes like this: when everyone comes in, get them to write some questions they have for members of the opposite sex (or their own gender, I suppose) and put them in two containers (male and female questions). Then everyone sits down, usually it ends up being men on one side and ladies on the other but that's not all that necessary. Once everyone is settled, the facilitators (usually the RAs in charge) start reading off questions, and then the audience answers. Usually in any crowd there's always someone who is willing to answer even the touchy questions. Make sure that answers are in relatively good taste - you want this to be educational, remember. A great resource is your Health Center, see if you can get them to send you a nurse so someone knows the REAL right answer to all those tough questions.
For finishers, once all or most of the questions have been answered and discussed, hand out free condoms, pamphlets on sexual activity and disease treatment, and other related stuff - jelly was pretty popular at one of ours.

Instructions/Things Needed:

nurse or otherwise educated health instructor
two large containers
lots of paper, and pens
a big room that encouranges discussion

Other Considerations:

Be careful not to let anybody get carried away or too offensive, it can really ruin the mood
