About

Drag Queen Contest

I recently held a Drag Queen Contest in my residence hall.  I had about
100 students attend the program.  The contestants were each asked to do a runway walk, lip sync and question and answer session. I made posters to advertise, flyers, and a radio station on campus.  The theme for the posters was:

1 Guy + 1 Girl = 1 Group OR
1 Guy + 2 Girls = 1 Group
Ladies transform your guy to WIN!

I had donations given from off campus that I raffled to the audience:
4 $5 gift certificates to Crazy Gifts (novelty store) and they donated a
blacklight.
$10 gift certificate to Village Music
And dominos donated pizza
We also had soda and candy available.

The prizes consisted of
1st place : $30 gift certificate to Walmart
2nd place $20 to Walmart
3rd place $10 to Walmart.

The part of this program was to have fun and for it to be a social but
the main focus was for it to be EDUCATIONAL.  I had a guest speaker who is an actual real life Drag Queen talk about what it really  takes to be one. The audience was amazed by this and were very interested.  It was truly a great program, it even made it on our local news!

My name is :  Amy Rietschel
