Battle of the sexes

gender education, social

Description
:

We split the group into female and male.  One RA took the males into one room and i kept the girls in another.  We then discussed some questions made up previously.  The questions were made up on what girls want to know about guys and vice versa.  The two groups went through the questions.  After about twenty minutes, we got back together in one room and discussed what each group had come up with.  It started some heated conversations, but a good time was had by all.

Instructions/Things Needed:

list of questions

Other Considerations:

Warn that some of the topics are a bit sticky.

Here's how another RA did a similar program:

Description:

I set up a Battle of the Sexes trivia contest between the men and the women in my hall. I asked the men questions that pertained to women and women questions that pertained to men. The losers of the competition had to serve the winners pizza at a party for everyone that participated.
I had 40 people show up for this program (about 70% of the hall)

Instructions/Things Needed:

Good gender related questions. (Check out battleofthesexes.com)
A timer. (I suggest 20 minute rounds) or a certain number of questions.
Advertise using teasers.
A good night the following week for pizza

Other Considerations:

Remember to have one spokesman for each team that gives the final answer and always remember whoever starts the game goes second in the next round.
