What can you tell about these pictures?
Description: This is kind of like five girls and five guys but with a spin. Another RA and I took pictures of random rooms in the freshman halls. We then had the people living in the room answer questions such as:
Are you a:
- geek
- an athlete
- gender
- background
- roomate or live alone if it was an RA's room etc.
Then for the program we showed the pictures and asked the same questions to see what you can tell about first impressions. The funny thing is that we had two rooms that looked like the oppsite gender lived there, so it made for some intersting comments.
Instructions: Go around and take pics of rooms with a digtial camera. Then put the picutres in a slide show for the night of the program. Have the peopel that live in the room answer questions.
The night of the program then have, the same questions and have the people that come to the program answer them. Then after the program have a talk about, first impressions and how important it is to get past it.
Other Considerations: I used random room pictures on the flyer, I think next time I would use actually some of the rooms that I took picutres of. Also I would involve upperclassman, and not just freshman.
