Give a Little, Help a Lot!

Description: The purpose of this program was to collect the extra school supplies that residents had so that they could be donated to a downtown tutoring center. We collected the items before Winter break.

Instructions_Things_Needed: Advertise the program well in advance. Ask other RAs to remind their residents. We collected door-to-door, and had a table for donations set up in the
cafeteria. Make sure that you have Residents to help collect the items. Also, keep a tally of what you collect as you go along because otherwise things will get complicated.

Other Considerations: I wouldn't really waste time collecting items in the cafeteria again. Door-to-door collections were very helpful. Be sure to accept anything that residents offer, every pencil or pen helps.
