"Moods: and you feel..." Bulletin Board

Description:

A resident helped me with this one.  We went through magazines and cut pictures expressing differnet moods: happy, silly, sad, relaxed, stressed, etc.  Even added musical, romantic, and athletic.  Each resident's name was printed on a small piece of paper and then puttied to the bulletin's boarder.  The residents enjoyed "changing their mood" from day to day and it was a good way for me to start a conversation.

Instructions/Things Needed:

magazines
scissors
a bulletin board : )
poster putty
paper (for names and title)

Other Considerations:

Try not to choose magazine pictures that overemphasize beauty.  This program centers more on how residents feel than how they look.  "Ordinary people" are easily found in news magazines.  Oh, and be sure to move your mood, too.
