Mental
Floss Bulletin Board |
Name: Jessica D.
School: University of Wisconsin-Whitewater
Description: This a continuous activity I did all
year long. Every couple of weeks I post a
brainteaser question in the hallway next to my bulletin
board. I vary the questions from super easy ones
to ones that are a little more difficult.
Residents write their responses (along with their name
and room #) on a piece of paper and put it in my
"RA Mailbox" (simply a file folder with the
sides taped up that I put up next to my door). At
the end of a couple of weeks--usually when I don't get
anymore responses--I'll post the correct answer by the
question with a note congratulating those who got it
right. I also leave a little treat (like
lollipops) in their mailboxes with a congratulatory
note. Then, I put up a new question and it starts
all over again. This is a good way for them to
take a short break from their schoolwork and have a
little fun with knowledge--even if it is rather useless.
8-)
Instructions, Things Needed:
*construction or computer paper--for the questions
and answers
*your trusty role of masking tape--to post the questions
*candy for prizes (optional)
*the game Mind Trap is an excellent source for questions
there are also tons of websites
*someplace for residents to drop off their answers
confidentially
Other Considerations: Try not to use brainteasers
that everyone has heard of already and knows the answers
to--you'd be giving away a lot of candy!
