Need Help With Your Bulletin Board?

Description: Here is a great idea for incoming freshmen. Have a bulletin board stating the tile. CAN YOU AFFORD IT? What we did was figure out how much money each class costs. This was done by taking the tuition cost (Not room and board) and dividing it by the number of class days in a semester (do not include weekends, days off, or breaks). Then divide that number by three (average number of classes in a day). Once you have that number, it will be that approximate cost per class. (For us it was $59.00, per class) remember this is an average cost, but it gets to point across. The purpose is to get students to realize that their education is costing a lot; can they afford to skip class? Can they afford to not do their paper, or study for a test? This is just general awareness of cost of education. Once students see the expensive price for skipping class, they might think twice. Have the bulletin board done before move in day for parents to see as well, as a reminder of where t heir hard earned money goes. It makes a great conversation between parents and students!
