Diversity
Collage |
Description:
Using poster paper, the same size as a bulletin board on
your floor, I painted the word DIVERSITY vertically down
the middle of the paper, I added the words Different,
Individuals, Varying in, Education, Race, Sex, Identity,
Thoughts, & Years. Putting out poster paints,
I asked residents to paint or write anything that they
felt appropriate and their name.
Instructions/Things Needed:
Poster Paper
Paint
Paint Brushes
Paper cups (paint and water)
Markers
Crayons
Get Crafty (glitter, glue, construction paper)
Other Considerations:
During the "creation" discussion hit topics,
ranging from personal experience, to stereotypes, to
High Schools, to home, to friends, and to community...
My group of nearly 30 freshmen did this program in
October and it fostered a remarkable amount of
discussion and floor pride, after all this is a bulletin
board that they created.
Doing this project on the floor in the Residence Hall is
advertising in itself, with a little cohesion, nobody
can resist the power of finger paints!!!
