Award
Show Mania |
Description:
This program can be done using any of the major awards
shows as the topic such as the Oscars or the Grammy
awards. A week before the award show is aired on TV, set
up a bulletin board with a list of all the categories
and nominees. Also include blank ballots and a
place for the ballot to be dropped. Once the
bulletin board is up, be sure to alert the residents in
your hall and floor as to what is going on. Offer
a prize for the person who has the most correct answers.
The night of the awards show, invite everyone to watch
and keep track of the winners. Once you have
tallied all your ballots, announce who has won.
It's a fun way to get a lot of people together and to
get people to look at those bulletin boards you spend so
much time working on.
Instructions/Things Needed:
*Bulletin board or space on a wall to post the nominees,
the ballots, and instructions.
*A prize such as a mini-trophy or movie tickets or gift
certificate to a movie rental place.
*A place to watch the awards show
*Sample ballots
*Lots of publicity to get those ballots filled out!
Other Considerations:
Consider the audience. If you have residents who
love movies more than music, do this program around the
academy awards. If they like music, go for the
Grammys...it really depends on who the audience is.
