Goal Setting Bookmarks Hot

I put these in the mailboxes of the residents living in my building on "Goal Week" during the first couple weeks of class. Laminating them or printing them on cardstock will make them last therefore residents are more likely to use them.

Note: Make sure they are colourful and different fonts and sizes. Combining this with a "role on the wall"exercise or "community goal sheet" would be ideal.

HAving student put their goals in writing (then maybe laminated) is a great way to get students involved and ontop of their Academics.

Sex In The Dark! Hot
User rating:
 4.5

Sex in The Dark is a great, fun program to get your residents talking about safe sex, open the minds of a few people to new ideas, and debunk any sex-related myths. There's a lot of variations to this program, but I'll explain how we did it in our residence hall.

The main idea of the program is to separate all of the boys and the girls in a large room, turn out the lights, and allow them to ask sexually-related questions to each other and have them answered by real people of the opposite sex. It's a great way to allow residents to ask any questions they may have anonymously. However, living in a residence hall where many people knew each other and may recognize each other's voices, we decided to do it a different way and instead of having people verbalize their questions, we got them to write them down. In this post, I will explain to you the simple steps to pulling off a successful Sex In The Dark program!

Memory Hot
User rating:
 1.0

memoryThis is a handout that I printed on colourful paper and gave to my residents. I combined it with a brain candy that I got at the dollar store (Halloween candy). This is good during midterm time when first year residents are having trouble retaining what they have learned so far.
