| Hello all, I would like to take this opportunity to tell you
about what we are doing on campus at Southern Oregon University to
address the national tragedy that has taken place. We have
started a Purple Ribbon Campaign. We are distributing purple
ribbons in our community with the following text:
Wear a Purple Ribbon
As we watch our nation mobilize to meet the
threats we have witnessed, we look for a way to respond as
individuals, as a community, and as a country.
The Purple Heart is awarded to those brave soldiers who are
wounded in battle as a symbol of their valor and merit. This same
courage will be necessary to see our nation through this time of
crisis.
Today we ask you to join us in wearing a purple ribbon to show
support for the many families who have lost a loved one and for
our country as we face an uncertain future.
"The resolve of our great nation is being tested. But make
no mistake, we will show the world that we will pass this test.''
- President George W. Bush
This campaign was started by the Residential Life

Also, please feel free to call or e-mail with any questions you
